At this month's Rescue Remedy Workshop by Dharma Dog Training, the fabulous Kelly McAtee will work with a MoGS foster dog and the dog's foster parents. Details from Kelley's website: "Rescue remedy is a two-hour workshop designed for anyone who fosters dogs, anyone who does rescue work, or who has adopted a rescue dog. You will learn about leadership and training exercises, how it relates to a calm state of mind and better behaviors from your dogs. *Attendees will be asked to leave their personal dogs at home and watch me work a rescue dog during the workshop. If one on one private sessions are needed for your dog you can schedule them at that time. The Missouri German Shepherd Rescue (MOGS) has been invited to the KC Remodel & Garden show this weekend, February 12 - 14! They have graciously donated a booth for our use, so we of course are thrilled for the chance to show our dogs and talk about MOGS! The show days & times are as follows: FRIDAY and SATURDAY, 2/12 & 2/13: 10am-9pm SUNDAY, 2/14: 10am-6pm Want to help us out and volunteer? Great!! All volunteers get in FREE to the show, a huge plus! We are in need of help to setup on Thursday, 2/11 around 10am, and then we'll have the following shifts for our volunteers: FRIDAY and SATURDAY, 2/12 & 2/13: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm, or 6pm-9pm SUNDAY, 2/14: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm (plus a little extra at the end to tear everything down. Hello everyone. We have a unique opportunity to have our own booth at 18 home games of the T Bones baseball team to sell concessions. MOGS will earn money per volunteer per game or a commission (whichever is greater) which will end up being a a substantial amount of money we need for the good of the dogs. Several of us attended a training session Monday night and now we have more information as to what it is all about. We are looking for 4-5 people per game to help. I have outlined the guidelines. 1) You would need to be at the stadium no later than 5:30 to help open up our stand and be ready to serve customers by 6:00 which is when the gates open. Generally the concession stand closes down around 9:00 and then we would clean up. Plan on being there between 4-5 hours from start to finish. Friday and Saturday evening games start at 7:05. We are signed up a Monday game Labor day weekend which starts at 1:05. We would need to be there by 11:30. 2) You are required to wear either Black or Tan pants, shorts or Capri pants. The ball park will provide us with shirts to wear which we will turn in at the end of the night so you need to just wear a T shirt that you can change back into. A T Bones or Black ball cap is required to be worn at all times. 3) You must be at least 16 to sell concessions, 18 to ring up beer, 21 to pour beer. No exceptions are allowed. 4) There is some paperwork that each volunteer will need to read and sign prior to being allowed to work in the concession stand. We all went through this Monday night and would be happy to explain what it is. Thi is a requirement of Centerplate (concession folks) and MUST be done...no exceptions. Because we are serving food this paperwork is required by the state. 5) You are not required to pay to get into the game. There is a designated gravel parking lot that we are to park in and a door marked for personnel which we are required to enter through. They will have a list of people who are allowed into the park.

Several of us attended a training session Monday night and now we have more information as to what it is all about. We are looking for 4-5 people per game to help. We have a unique opportunity to have our own concession stand at 18 home games. We earn money for the dogs -- a huge help with our heavy vet bills!! It’s a blast, you support the T-Bones club, and you make money for the dogs! What a deal! NEEDED: 4-6 people per game to man the concession stand. FRIDAY & SATURDAY NIGHT DATES: May 20-21, June 10-11, June 24-25, July 1-2, July 22-23, Aug. 12-13, Aug. 19-20. LABOR DAY WEEKEND: Fri., Sat., Sun., & Mon., Sept. 2-5. TIMING: you have to be at the stadium no later than 5:30 pm, to open our stand and be ready to serve by 6:00 when ballpark gates open. Stand closes around 9:00 pm and then we clean up.
