NELLY came to MOGS from a rural shelter after being dumped with her four puppies on a rural highway.

TEMPERAMENT/BEHAVIOR
Nelly is a super sweet girl who craves love and attention. This girl has gone through a lot to get to Mogs. She will be decompressing in the coming weeks and her confidence will grow as she learns that she is safe and receiving regular meals. More updates to come as we get to know her better.

TRAINING
Nelly may have lived inside a house at some point, she appears to be potty trained and doesn’t have accidents in her kennel. She has been vocal when she sees dogs or humans while on walks. She prefers attention over food, and seems to settle down nicely when she is hanging out with her foster family.

OTHER ANIMALS
Sometimes she is interested and other times uninterested in her foster family’s cats. More to come as we get to know her better and she is introduced to her new foster siblings.

NELLY'S ADOPTION FEE:   $350
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
