CYNDI LAUPER is a gorgeous girl with soulful eyes that go straight in and melt your heart! She's a tall, elegant girl - a complete sweetheart with a beautiful coat and unique markings. Cyndi was picked up as a starving stray, and after seeing a veterinarian to get her vaccinations updated, we found she was also heartworm positive. We've put 15 lbs on her and she's starting her heartworm treatment so will shortly be ready to go home with a forever family!
When Cyndi first came to MOGS she was terrified of everything, and hid out in her crate as much as possible. She's improved tremendously thanks to her fantastic foster parents, and is now showing more confidence in the house. In fact, she loves, loves, loves to play with other dogs in the house and the yard!
Cyndi isn't a fan of loud noises like thunder, and retreats to her kennel if she's scared or unsure. She's made huge strides forward with the love and TLC of her foster parents, and much of that is due to being with her foster fur-sibling Chance (another MoGS dog who's been adopted). She's gained a lot of confidence by having another furry friend to watch and take cues from! Because of this, WE REQUIRE AT LEAST 1 medium-to-large dog be in her adopter's home.
Cyndi is great around other dogs and kids. She's house trained, kennel trained, and is actually quite neat and tidy! She likes to be clean and LOVES to be brushed! She also walks well on a leash. Due to feeling unsure of herself she doesn't yet seem to enjoy going out for walks, but with consistency she'll continue to adjust nicely She's developed a very playful side now that she's warm, fed, safe and loved! She adores playing ball in the yard. In fact, she loves being outside and we believe she spent most of her life outside. She's a master squirrel chaser and keeps the yard pretty quiet! With her love for the outdoors, we do REQUIRE a 6 ft fenced yard.
Our sweet and loving girl still needs on-going socialization and exposure, and will make a wonderful companion and family dog. Is she the right one for YOU? Are YOU the lucky family who will share your life with this absolute gem of a girl? Apply now!

CYNDI's ADOPTION FEE: $300 This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend
over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
