About Zephyr / Zeke (1-12) | |
Zephyr does well in general with other dogs if properly introduced. Proper supervision and strong canine leadership are important, as he will sometimes try to correct another dog that invades too much of his space. He is also fine to live with cats; again good supervision is important -- occasionally he will want to chase them if they seem partifularly interesting!
Zephyr does have food and envronmental allergies, so is currently on a very specific kibble and he also receives a few supplements on a daily basis. The few times that he's veered off of this diet, he's gotten very uncomfortable red and itchy paws, as well as ear infections.
Zephyr does have a little bit of separation anxiety when left alone at home, but we've learned that as long as he's crated/kenneled, and the door is shut with carabiner hooks to secure it, he's perfectly fine. He has learned that when he won't be able to escape, he doesn't even try and settles in nicely. When someone is in the home, he's a perfect gentleman!
