LADYBIRD is a uniquely stunning mix of German Shepherd and a herding breed such as Aussie or Cattle Dog. Her coat is absolutely gorgeous - a rich, deep gray with spots of black and occasional silver! And her personality is as beautiful as she is -- mellow in the house but energetic outdoors!
Ladybird was abandoned in a small KS town along with her brother Falco - their family simply moved one day and left them on the street to starve. And starve they did. Both dogs were finally picked up by local Animal Control, where they were found to be 15 lbs underweight, filthy and full of fleas. Animal Control was full and these two were both put on the kill list. That's when MoGS stepped in and took both of them.
And what gems they both are! Ladybird is her own lady -- dignified, well behaved in the house, gentle, unassuming. Yet she lives to play ball and will chase literally all day long! This sweetheart MUST HAVE a home where she'll get constant, extensive, purposeful exercise - more than just a daily walk and a few fetches. She craves and needs serious ball-throwing, agility, tracking or similar activity.
One of her cutest habits is that when she sits and waits for you to throw the ball, she literally lifts one front paw in the air in anticipation!
If you're an active family and want a loving, gorgeous, active buddy, Ladybird is perfect for you! She's about 70 lbs and in great health, just waiting for a forever family who will NEVER leave or abandon her again!
DOGS: Yes, was tested and gets along fine with dogs of all sizes
CATS: Yes, ignores them
KIDS: Yes, very friendly
IDEAL FAMILY: An active family who will provide her a loving home with lots of exercise and socialization!
If you're looking for a gorgeous, loving girl,
who will love you forever,
Sookie may be your ideal family member!
Sookie's ADOPTION FEE: $250
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
