LORETTA is smart and social - the brainy kid in the litter!  She was the first one to figure out how to escape the pen.  She absolutely loves running free to romp and play in the yard, exploring, bugging her brothers and sisters, chasing the wind – or whatever else she can find to do!  She always wants the attention of whoever is outside, and of the bigger dogs.  Not afraid of anything and ready to explore the big wide world outdoors. Loretta would be the perfect pet for an energetic family who loves to go-and-do, and is willing to take the time to train an energetic puppy!  Loretta’s a go-go girl who’s adorable, loving, energetic, and will steal your heart!! 

THE PUPPIES' STORY:  Their momma is Marie (last picture) - a sweetheart of a girl who's also absolutely gorgeous!  Tiny and petite for a setter, she was found stray and literally starving, weighing only 31 pounds and pregnant.  A good samaritan took her in and committed to keeping her until she could have the puppies and recover her health.   She’s finally starting to gain some weight and is now 41 lbs.  She’s still super skinny but is on the road to being healthy again!  If any of the puppies are half as gorgeous as mom, you’ll have on stunning dog on your hands.   PLEASE SEE THE PICTURES OF MOMMA MARIE BELOW.

IDEAL FAMILY:        An active family who understands that a puppy is a HUGE responsibility - it's like having another baby in the house!  A family who will put up with puppy behaviors - chewing, nipping, peeing - and lovingly train Loretta out of them, lovingly show him through positive reinforcement and direction what "the rules" are.

STOP!! READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER!

1. We're picky about our adopters. 
2. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD?  They're not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.  
   
3. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs.
4. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home?   We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone.  You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone.  A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car.  Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into.  Gates are opened.  Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
   
5. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up? 
   
6. Will you make a lifetime commitment?  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
7.  Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment?  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
