NORI (aka "Noir") is an adorable, fun, happy, sweet, rambunctious girl who's still very much a puppy! She loves lfe, LOVES people, especially loves kids, and just kind of loves everyone. She adores playing with other dogs and is currently in foster care with an older large dog and doing fine. Nori would love to have a doggie buddy to play with in a nice fenced yard, and even kids of her very own to cuddle and play with.
Nori's foster family consists of two children, another dog and two cats. They're crazy about her and say she's a really good girl, just a goofy, energetic, and sometimes crazy puppy. She didn't have much of a puppyhood in her prior life - she was confiscated for cruelty and ended up in a high kill pound on death row. Neglected, starved, abused and sentenced to death at just 1 year old .... it's inconceivable. How anyone could abuse this sweet girl is beyond imagining. Yet there she was, starved, afraid, still just a baby, facing a terrible, short life.
But that's all over now and she's safe, sound and making up for lost time by having a wonderful new puppyhood in her foster home! She enjoys everything and, with the incredible resilience of dogs, thinks life is now one big playground. Despite her terrible treatment at the hands of humans, she still loves people and jumps for joy to see you coming. Her wonder, joy and appreciation of life are amazing!
Nori is more interested in the cats in her foster home than she should be, but it's working and she's slowing learning to respect them. We think she just wants to play, but she's too rough and is learning to gentle down with the cats. Like most large young dogs, she doesn't know her own strength and has to be taught to tone it down to an appropriate level of play.
Nori is really just a big puppy, and at one year old still has the puppy temperament. Like all young German Shepherds, she needs training and leadership. But she's super smart and very trainable - she's quickly learning house manners in her devoted foster home. With training and consistency over the next 1-2 years, you'll watch Nori blossom into the gorgeous young dog who was just waiting to emerge from the months of starvation and cruelty she endured.
One very lucky family is going to add this incredibly sweet girl to their family for life, and become BFF's (best friends forever). Is that YOU?
