JAMISON (aka Jamie) is a gorgeous young guy with that beautiful, thick wavy coat some GSDs have - he's stunning and actually very sweet! He was originally found starving in rural southern Missouri and was taken in by a kind woman, but after a time she decided she could not keep him as she had quite a pack of her own already. Jamie is yet another victim of "Puppy Mill Country" - the huge over-breeding and over-population in that area.
But we're all grateful that Jamie is one of the fortunate few who survived being dumped in the country and made it out alive. He's a very affectionate boy despite everyting he's been through! He loves people and attention, and seems to really like other dogs. We tested him with other large dogs and he did great, just wanting to play and then have their company.
We haven't yet had the chance to observe him around small dogs, cats or kids, and those would have to be tested. We believe he'll be fine around kids - the only issue being that his youthful exuberance and energy could and would easily knock a small child over in play if not supervised properly.
Basically Jamie is at that awkward puppy/young dog stage where he's a "lunkhead" - a sweet, untrained boy who just needs the right training and guidance. But like all German Shepherds, he does need strong canine leadership.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of people willing to foster, Jamie is in boarding. We're not sure if he's housetrained, but he does well in his kennel. He's super affectionate to people and is fast becoming a favorite at the boarding kennel.
Only one fortunate family will get to bring sweet Jame into their hearts and home! Is that YOU?
DOGS: Yes
CATS: unknown, would have to be tested
KIDS: unknown, would have to be tested but believe he will do fine
IDEAL FAMILY: an active family with LOTS of love to give and who's willing to provide the training and leaderhsip this gorgeous young guy needs as a young, untrained GSD
