About Jezabelle | |
|
|
JEZABELLE is a gorgeous sable German Shepherd with a stunning dark face. She's also a sweetheart - she gets along with everyone! She's in a foster home with cats and dogs, and doing just great. As you can tell from the pictures, she's just a tiny bit overweight and is roly-poly - she was loved a little too well!
Until November 2012 Jezablle lived her entire life with an older lady all her life who loved and cared for her. So Jez is very flexible - she can be a great family dog with kids, or she can be a great companion dog in a quiet household! She would make a marvelous dog for a single person, an older person or couple, or even for a family with kids. She loved the grandkids and temporarily lived with them when her owner died.
Jezabelle's only issue is that she needs to be on a diet and drop about 20 lbs!
Here's a gorgeous GSD who is part the hyperactive stage but still has lots of energy and life, is a mellow and loving girl, and is a wonderful companion and pet.
WHO WILL BE THE LUCKY ONES TO MAKE JEZABELLE PART OF THEIR FOREVER FAMILY?
Jezabelle's Story
Jezabelle's story shows why it's CRITICAL THAT YOU MAKE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC PROVISIONS FOR THE CARE OF YOUR PET IF YOU ARE INCAPACITATED. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. LEAVE A WILL OR LIVING WILL. SET ASIDE FUNDS FOR YOUR PET'S CARE. Jezabelle lived with an an older lady all her life and was well loved and cared for. Unfortunately, her owner died - and hadn't made any provisions for Jezabelle. Jezabelle was thrown on the mercy of the world - and - and she almost died! The owner's daughter-in-law originally took Jezabelle in but quickly lost patience, saying "I'm not a big dog person". She had contacted rescue (good)) just after Thanksgiving (bad timing) and was told if they would continue to foster, rescue would be glad to take Jezabelle. But on December 29 the daughter-in-law drove Jezabelle to a high kill city pound and dumped her to die. Apparently that was her definition of a "Happy New Year" - no big dog in her house and the beloved pet of her mother-in-law dead at the hands of the taxpayers.
Fortunately the shelter immediately called us -- they were full to overflowing and knew they would have to kill her. Even though we were already taking 3 dogs from them, we scrambled, begged and pleaded, and were able to find her a foster home. We were at the shelter doors early the next morning to pick up the dog so callously dumped to die by trusted family members.
DOGS: yes, lived with small dogs
CATS: yes
KIDS: yes, was great with grandkids
IDEAL FAMILY: a loving, moderately active home where she'll simply be loved, loved, loved - and cared for forever!
If you're looking for a gorgeous, mellow German Shepherd who doesn't need much and just wants to be loved,
JEZABELLE may be your dream dog!
