About Hadley | |
|
HADLEY is a stunningly handsome classic GSD youngster. At just 9-10 months old, he's already been abandoned and on death row in a small Kansas town. Fortunately for Hadley, the vet clinic that serves as animal control contacted rescue, and Hadley is now safe and sound in a loving foster home. Two of his siblings were found stray in a nearby town and are also safe in another rescue. These 3 dogs are the lucky ones of their litter, rescued from a miserable existence with no love, sold to people who don't know or care to learn how to handle a German Shepherd. They're victims of "Cute Puppy Syndrome": bought when they're small, fluffy and adorable - then dumped the minute they get large, chew things, get into the trash, jump on people ....
We've only had Hadley for a short time, but he's actually very well behaved in the foster's house. He doesn't seem to chew on things or destroy things like so many 9 month old pups would. He gets along with the other resident dogs, both large and small. We also had him dog tested before he came to us and he did fine. He seems to ignore the cat. He's a fun, outgoing youngster who really just seems to want to enjoy life - to love you and be loved by you!
Hadley is in a foster home with teenagers and we have not seen him around small children. We believe he would be fine but that would have to be tested. The only problem is likely to be just his size and rambunctious puppy energy, which can easily knock a small child over if dog and child are not supervised.
Only one lucky family will be able to claim handsome Hadley as their own!!
DOGS: yes. would love to have a play buddy
CATS: ok with them
KIDS: unknown, would have to be tested, we believe will do fine (will need supervision just because of his puppy energy and rambunctious play)
IDEAL FAMILY: an active family who will give Hadley the training, guidance and exercise he never got - and who will love and care for him FOREVER!
If you're looking for a gorgeous, young, trainable German Shepherd
who will love you forever,
HADLEY may be your ideal family member!
HADLEY's ADOPTION FEE: $350
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
