About Kasey | |
|
|
Kasey is a medium-sized GSD mix who is as sweet as can be! She is a mature dog who is ready to live the rest of her life in a calm and peaceful home. She is fully house-trained and walks very well on a leash. When she looks at you with her one floppy ear it will make you grin.
Kasey has already been through so much in her life. When she was young she was beaten on her face and mouth with something very heavy, resulting in permanent damage to her teeth and to the hair on the right side of her face. When you look at her sweet face you truly see two different halves. The right side will forever be an indication of all that she has been thru.
Kasey was adopted from a shelter by a wonderful family in Omaha. Her new owners quickly learned that Kasey had contracted Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever (RMSF) before they had adopted her. Kasey immediately began her treatment for RMSF and made a complete recovery. After she was healed from the RMSF her family gave her the best vet care to fix her broken teeth. This required extensive dental surgery and the removal of 6 teeth as several were broken below the gum line.
After Kasey's treatment the family noticed she was a completely different dog, spunky and full of life! She began to play with the family's border collies. However, the abuse and RMSF clearly have taken a toll on Kasey. Based on her reaction to certain men we think she had been abused by a man. She has also developed mild arthritis as a result of the RMSF. The arthritis does not stop her from wanting to constantly play and go on daily walks, and she would love an active family who will walk her daily!
Kasey has lived a great life with her family in Omaha. Unfortunately, Kasey has become more nervous and anxious around the young kids in the home. She has never once growled or given any indication of aggressiveness towards the children, but it is apparent that Kasey would be more comfortable and less stressed with older children. Loud noises and sudden movements make Kasey very nervous.
Kasey deserves a calm and loving forever home who will understand what she has been through and love her until the very end. She has a lot of life left to live!
OTHER DOGS: good, lived with 2 border collies and did very well
CATS: good
KIDS: older children only. Kasey needs a calm home with no children or older children only
IDEAL HOME: a home with gentle, loving people who will take her on daily walks and love her for the rest of her life!
If you're looking for a wonderful, mature
dog with lots of love to give,
KASEY will be your best friend for life!

At minimum your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery, bloodwork, X-rays, and treatment and medications for conditions such as thyroid, ear infections, eye problems, skin conditions and many others.
