|
Baby Jolie is an adorable white german shepherd girl who was being badly abused in southern Missouri (which is known as "The Puppy Mill Capital of the U.S.") She was only 7 months old when we got the call to save her from a life of hell. A local law enforcement officer pleaded with us to help her.
At first she was so scared of everything and everyone that she would hide and cower all the time. We could barely get her to walk and putting her on a leash instantly terrified her. The only comfort she had was her foster sister, another GSD with an outgoing personality, and she clung to her like glue. When put in a crate in a different room, poor Baby J literally went crazy trying to claw her way out of the crate. She was terrified to be without her new sister she had just met! It was heartbreaking.
But thanks to her wonderful foster family, Baby J has slowly turned many corners and overcome most of her early abuse. She is still a shy and sensitive girl, but she's gained a lot of confidence and learned that humans can be good! She adores the kids in her foster family (6 and 13 yrs) and absolutely loves to be with her family.
Baby J is one of those dogs who melt your heart. She will literally be your heart dog! She is unassuming, loving, playful, adores other dogs, is great with kids, and continues to grow in confidence every day. It's a joy to have watched her blossom in these last 7 months. But now she needs her very own forever home where she can settle in permanently - with a family who will love her and care for her for the rest of her life.
Baby J needs a family who is active, patient and exceptionally loving! Her new family MUST have at least one other dog, as this is Baby J's greatest comfort. She is a sensitive girl and will still react to being yelled at or having a hand raised to her. She will eventually get past this all together but there is still some of that. She is a gentle soul in a puppy's body -- and with a puppy's energy and playfulness!
OTHER DOGS: DEFINITELY! New family MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE OTHER DOG.
CATS: unknown, would have to test
KIDS: yes. Lives with kids now
IDEAL HOME: an active home with TONS of love, patience and gentleness to give Baby J - and at least one other doggie buddy!
If you're looking for a dog with a sweet soul that will melt your heart,
and have love and patience galore,
BABY J is your heart dog!
BABY JOLIE'S ADOPTION FEE: $300
This fee covers only part of what we spend on vetting and boarding the dogs we save, and has not changed in 7 years despite dramatic hikes in vet and boarding prices. Special Needs: Still somewhat shy as a result of being abused as a very young puppy. Yelling, raised hands when something is wrong, etc. still can scare her
