About Tyson / Titan (in 6.12 - OS) | |

|
TYSON is one VERY special dog! He's an absolutely gorgeous, classic black-and-tan German Shepherd. He’s a serious dog -- and super intelligent! He needs an active home that will give him regular activities or a job to do – he needs daily mental and physical stimulation. Otherwise this smart cookie just might get into mischief!
In the right home Tyson will be an extremely loyal and loving companion. He's hungry for love and loves to be with you! With the proper training, love and discipline, Tyson is a gentle-hearted teddy bear. He’s also very talkative and whimpers with excitement! He’s very energetic and can actually be very silly and funny.
Tyson MUST go to a home with structure and outstanding canine leadership.
The cool part? Tyson has already been professionally obedience-trained (by a wonderful trainer who also happens to be his foster mom)! WOW! Doesn’t get much better than that!
So all his new family has to do – and this is an absolute must! – is to continue being strong canine leaders for Tyson!!
The reason is that Tyson came from a home that didn't exercise him, refused to provide any structure and instead babied him. Tyson took over the leadership as best he could, but was often inappropriate with strangers and in strange situations. His owner left a void and Tyson filled it the best he could figure out. While there was no physical abuse in the home, the mental neglect had the effect of totally confusing this great dog. He had NO leadership, NO structure, NO discipline, and NO socialization outside the home. As a result he was frightened of strange people and situations, and reacted in fear. He could easily have bitten someone who entered his territory and was fearful / reactive instead of the confident, glorious German Shepherd he's now becoming.
With the help of his professional-trainer-foster-mom, Tyson is now turning into the confident and glorious guy he should have been all along. She's rehabilitating him and his new adopters MUST be strong leaders who will continue what she has started with Tyson. That includes regular (daily) strenuous exercise, an activity/job to do, leadership, structure, consistency and LOTS of love! He has come a very long way and his trainer-foster-mom calls him a big “teddy bear”. For the first time in his entire life, Tyson is getting true love and all that comes with it.
Yet Tyson is still a serious German Shepherd and requires a serious, committed, strong and very aware owner. His new family MUST be experienced in dealing with true German Shepherd traits, and MUST continue to provide the structure, training, discipline, socialization and leadership he is currently getting.
KIDS: Very possible, depending on the children and their behavior toward the dog. He previously lived with children 5 & up and was great with them, so this would depend on the circumstances of the particular household. When tested with rather exuberant kids, Tyson did great (see the picture)
OTHER DOGS: Can easily be an only pet. May be ok with another very submissive dog if the owner is also alert and aware. He currently lives with 4 other medium to large size dogs, including one large dominant male – but only because his trainer-foster-mom is the pack leader and both dominant males know better than to start something because she won't allow it. But overall Ty is very much a dominant / Alpha dog and could escalate quickly if another dog is inappropriate in any way.
CATS: no
IDEAL HOME: An active, committed home where everyone in the household exercises strong, loving leadership and is willing/able to provide the continued training, leadership, socialization, structure and discipline Tyson needs.
If you're looking for a spectacular and loyal German Shepherd,
are experienced and will provide very strong leadership,
TYSON may be your dream dog!!
