More Information:
PEONY (also being called Penny) is a little dynamo! She's a typical German Shepherd youngster -- full of vim, vigor, energy and mischief. Peony is small for a GSD at 50 lbs., but she's a great size for someone who would like to have German Shepherd and doesn't have room for a great big dog.
Peony was a stray who ended up in a high kill Missouri pound. She survived a horrible round of illnesses that shut the shelter down and is now a healthy happy girl happily playing with her doggie foster brother and her two foster human children. Peony is one of those dogs who's an open book - full of joy and fun. You almost grin when you look at her, she's such a little pistol.
We noticed a slight limp in one of her front legs -- and the vet discovered that she had actually broken her leg at some time in the recent past!!! Whether it happened at the pound or before that we don't know, but the break was too old to set by the time we got her. FORTUNATELY (whew) the break is healing clean and straight, so that she should not have any ramifications at all once it's healed. For 6 weeks, she's on a regimen of quiet and calm to ensure proper healing (and driving her foster parents crazy along the way, of course!)
Penny would LOVE a family with another dog, kids, and a lot of activity -- a family where she'll get lots of great exercise and interaction and playtime every day! This adorable girl will be your best friend for life!!
Peony’s adoption fee is $300.00.
This fee covers a portion of the vet and boarding expenses for the dogs we save. It includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella vaccinations, deworming and microchip.
