More Information:

TRINITY is a simply stunning AKC black German Shepherd girl.  She's 1.5 yrs old, is full grown (may fill out some) and is on the small side.  She's a typical young German Shepherd in most regards!  She's full of energy and life, and needs an outlet for her energy and intelligence.

She loves other dogs and is learning to be less shy around humans.  And she's incredibly smart!  She's learning rapidly from her two German Shepherd foster brothers  ... she watches and mimics them, and is learning from them how to deal with people and situations.  She went to an adoption event and kept her eye on one of her brothers all day long!  You could literally see her mind working, observing how her doggie brother was having a great time and moving easily among the humans.

TRINITY needs that kind of learning opportunity right now, combined with time, patience and love.  Her life from here on out is going to be great, but her story is sad.  She spent the first 14 months of her life in a barn on the breeder's farm -- no home life and no interaction except with the breeder.  It's no surprise that Trinity is shy and uncertain in new situations!  She's understandably nervous and skittish right now, as she's been through quite a roller-coater in the last few months.

For a few lovely months, TRINITY lived with a nice couple who worked with her and earned her trust.  They loved her dearly and had no hesitation about having her around their small children (she simply stayed away from the children and the children respected the fact that they were not allowed to force themselves on her).  But sadly the couple relocated, couldn't find housing that allowed dogs, and rehomed Trinity.  They thought it was a good home.  The adopter was eager to "help" Trinity and work with her.  But a mere 15 hours later he dumped poor Trinity in a shelter to die!  A concerned family member contacted MOGS.  We contacted the shelter and found out that TRINITY would die that very night.  We contacted the first owner, and with some quick work and the help of half a dozen caring individuals, we got TRINITY out and to safety.

So  her journey to a new life has begun - she is in a wonderful foster home starting the best years of her life!

All Trinity needs now is time, patience and love! Once she gets that she's going to be a fantastic dog as well as a gorgeous one.

She just needs someone who loves her enough to be PATIENT with her and allow her the TIME and OPPORTUNITY to learn that life is good and she needn't be afraid of new situations.

CHILDREN:  Trinity did previously live with children for a few months but is still very uncertain about them.  She prefers to walk the other way - she doesn't want anything to do with the noise, chaos, fast movements and unpredictability of kids.  Trinity's inclination is to flee when she's afraid.  If walking away isn't an option she gets agitated and 'vocal' but has not shown any desire to 'fear bite'.

CATS and SMALL DOGS:  unknown at this time.

Once you gain TRINITY's trust you'll have a most devoted companion.
She's truly an angel
who just wants to know where she belongs and what is expected of her -
and then she'll reward you with her sweet affection and goofy, playful personality.

HOW BIG IS YOUR HEART?
BIG ENOUGH TO WRAP IT AROUND TRINITY and HELP HER ON THE FINAL STAGE OF HER JOURNEY TO A GREAT LIFE?

Trinity’s adoption fee is $300.00.

This fee covers a portion of the vet and boarding expenses for the dogs we save.  It includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella vaccinations, deworming and microchip.

STOP!! READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER!

  1. We're picky about our adopters.
  2. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD?  They're not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.
  3. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs.
  4. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home?   We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone.  You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone.  A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car.  Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into.  Gates are opened.  Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
  5. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up?
  6. Will you make a lifetime commitment?  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
  7.  Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment?  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
  8. Are you unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment? Do not apply.
