More Information:
STAR is a wonderful example of living in the “now”! Despite a horrible history (chained on a front porch, hairless from mange, attacked by another dog while chained and helpless, starved, deprived of shelter), STAR loves people, loves life, loves to play with other dogs. She just LOVES everyone and everything (except cats).
STAR is overflowing with the sheer joy of being able to run, run, run. She can go like the wind and would make a great agility dog or running companion. STAR needs an active family who will make sure she gets to exercise every single day. We have not had her around small children but believe with her joyful personality she will do well with them. The only caution around small children is likely to be her size and energy level – she may accidentally knock a small child over during play if child and dog are not supervised.
STAR will make a wonderful family dog. She needs training to tone down her rambunctious ways but should learn quickly. She is quite the cuddlebug and loves to love and be loved on. She’d probably be a lapdog if you don’t mind a 65 lb lap dog!
STAR is in a wonderful foster home with another GSD and a small dog, and getting along just fine. STAR’s ideal home will have a doggie brother or sister.
STAR is completely vetted. She is at good weight, has regained the majority of her hair, and is healthy aside from her continued treatment for demodectic mange (non-contagious). It’s a simple medication. Other than that, all STAR needs is lots of TLC, cuddling and low stress to make her transformation from neglected chained dog complete.
Star’s adoption fee is $300.00.
This fee covers a portion of the vet and boarding expenses for the dogs we save. It includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies, distemper/parvo and bordatella vaccinations, deworming and microchip.
