FOSTER ME! or ADOPT ME!
Location: Kansas City, MO area
Age: approx. 1 yr.
Temperament: all German Shepherd, classic GSD temperament, high energy, needs training
BARON is a stunning, classic example of a German Shepherd male! He was a stray at a very high kill pound, and clearly came from an owner who did nothing for him and taught him nothing. All BARON needs is the right guardian - a strong leader who will take the time to train him - and he will be an incredible dog.
BARON likes to challenge other male dogs right now, and is not good with cats. We're still learning about his interaction with other dogs such as females and small dogs. We believe he's ok with females. Small dogs are questionable right now. No children.
BARON is young, lunkheaded and full of energy. He needs an active guardian who will exercise him daily - a tired dog is a good dog! He also needs a guardian who is both consistent with and serious about training.
BARON was clearly not treated well. He seems to just now be getting used to the idea that humans can be okay, and even kind. He's not a beginner's German Shepherd! BARON needs an experienced GSD guardian who won't hesitate to take command, exert strong leadership, and commit to the training BARON needs. HE'S WORTH EVERY BIT OF EFFORT!! Wow, what a stunning example of the breed he will be.
Only one lucky family will get BARON as a lifetime companion and protector. IS IT YOU?
BARON's ADOPTION FEE: $300. This covers only part of what we spend on vet care and boarding. It includes (at minimum) spay/neuter, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if necessary, heartworm and flea preventive while in our program, and microchip.
TO APPLY: go to "FORMS" on the left-hand menu and submit an Adoption Application.
