ADOPT ME!
Location: Kansas City, MO area
Age: approx. 2 yrs
Temperament: sweet, high energy, typical young female German Shepherd, needs training ;-)
SHAYNA is a gorgeous dark black and tan German Shepherd who came from a very high kill rural shelter where they gas thousands of unwanted dogs and cats every year. She is one of the fortunate ones.
SHAYNA appears to be a great youngster who is simply in need of a firm, loving leader! She needs training to contain her exuberance and to teach her manners. She tries to keep her kennel clean but will definitely need a refresher course as she's been in the shelter and boarding for the last 6 weeks. She loves all humans and we believe she would do well with children, although parents will need to consider that due to her size and energy she may well knock a very small child down if not supervised properly.
We are still learning about SHAYNA with other dogs, and it appears that she will do well with supervision and training. She likes to get bossy in the kennel when other dogs are free (she doesn't like that -- guess she thinks she should be the one free ;-0).
SHAYNA is physically strong as well as headstrong right now. She is still a puppy in most ways, and apparently had little guidance/training previously. But she's a smart cookie and we believe she'll respond quickly and well to training.
SHAYNA will be your loyal defender and companion for a lifetime.
SHAYNA's ADOPTION FEE: $300. This covers only part of what we spend on vet care and boarding. It includes (at minimum) spay/neuter, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if necessary, heartworm and flea preventive while in our program, and microchip.
TO APPLY: go to "FORMS" on the left-hand menu and submit an Adoption Application.
