ADOPT ME!
Location: Omaha area
Age: approx. 7 months
Temperament: typical puppy - full of beans, high energy, sweet. Can be a pushy little thing, but only needs a good leader to show her what is and isn't appropriate.
MAGGS (a.k.a Maggie) was rescued from a bad situation in the inner city. She is a boxer mix puppy and may have some shepherd in her. She was shuffled around from home to home in her short life, and ended up outdoors on a chain with no shelter or water. The utter despair in her eyes was heartbreaking.
We took MAGGS as part of a 3-dog bust that included a German Shepherd. We weren't about to leave her to a fate as an inner city chained dog. At first MAGGS had a hard time relating well to other dogs - not surprising considering she'd only seen them chained at a distance from her own chain. But she spent a month in doggie daycare and started learning the rules of "polite society", and did VERY well! She quickly became a favorite at the doggie daycare. She LOVED playing ball and wanted to hog it all the time (still learning to share). She still has a lot to learn, as most puppies do. MAGGS just also has to play a little "catch up" to make up for her rough start in life.
MAGGS can be a pushy little madam who likes to boss other dogs around if allowed. But in her month in doggie daycare, she went from constantly pushing them around to just occasionally doing it. She's a good learner who simply needs continued socialization and a strong leader - and will be a great companion and protector!
