About GInny

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog

* FOSTER ME OR ADOPT ME! *

Location:   Kansas City area
Age:           10-12 months
Temperament:   very nice girl, still a puppy and FULL of energy!  can jump and wiggle like nobody's business

GINNY was a starvation case in a bad section of town.  The owners adopted her off the streets -- she showed up at their house one night and wouldn't leave because they fed her.  She was rail thin and obviously had had a very rough start in life.  GINNY is now healthy and happy little girl who LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to run and play with her buddies.  .  She's on the small side, around 45 lbs.

GINNY is in perfect health and is a normal puppy!  She's chock full of energy -- LOVES to run, play and be silly.  She needs training to learn great house manners and play manners, much the same as all puppies do.  She just never got any training before now.   She is still a little defensive when on leash around other dogs, but as she gets used to the fact that she's safe and loved she's adjusting well.   She lived for a while with a chihuahua and is fine with other dogs when introduced properly.  She has some kennel aggression, which is not unusual in homeless dogs who live in a kennel.  We believe that, as soon as she gets into a home, she will quickly get past that.

Cats are unknown at this time.  We suspect she's fine with small children though would need to test this.  The only trouble may be knocking them over with rowdy play!  Houstraining is unknown but she does keep her kennel at the boarding facility pretty clean.  She'll need a refresher course at first.

GINNY would love to have an active family of her very own -- and know real love and comfort for the first time in her young life.   Will you be GINNY's buddy and lifetime companion?

GINNY's adoption fee: $200.  This fee only covers a portion of what we spend on pulling, vetting, healing and boarding our program dogs.  It covers spa/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment when needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming and microchip

TO APPLY :  go to "FORMS" on the left hand menu and click on "Adoption Application."

STOP!! READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER!

  1. We're picky about our adopters.
  2. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD?  They're not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.
  3. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs.
  4. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home?   We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone.  You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone.  A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car.  Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into.  Gates are opened.  Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
  5. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up?
  6. Will you make a lifetime commitment?  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
  7.  Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment?  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
  8. Are you unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment? Do not apply.
