ADOPT ME!
Location: Omaha
Age: approx. 2-3 yrs
Temperament: SUPER SWEET
WOW! If you're looking for the sweetest German Shepherd ever, PENNY is your girl. She's loving, well-mannered, housetrained, crate-trained ... you name it. She's also a love bug. If there's such a thing as a "perfect" dog, PENNY is it!
PENNY isalso stunningly gorgeous. The picture of her turned away from the camera is the truest picture we could get of her silky, shiny coat.
PENNY was starved to almost half her normal body weight and full of every kind of worm. It's hard to show her ribs with her black coat, but look closely at several of her pictures and you'll see that she has almost no back end. What you see is pure bone covered in fur. She is a full grown GSD who should weigh about 75 lbs, yet weighed only 37 lbs when she came to us. She's putting on weight nicely and now weighs over 55 lbs with about 15 more to put on.
PENNY was also heartworm positive (so young - it tells you what a rough start she had in this life). We have treated her and she is doing great - she's ready for her forever family!
Despite all the unkindness, PENNY has the greatest temperament ever. Talk about forgiveness!
Everyone falls in love with PENNY right away. Despite her heartworm, she's full of energy and now that she's starting to get enough to eat she's feeling even better. She has put on a couple of pounds in the week we've had her and will soon be in a foster home where she'll rapidly put on more weight.
Some VERY luck family will get PENNY! She will be a fantastic dog for any active family who wants a delightfully easy, gorgeous dog with personality and charm.
