PASSED AWAY OF OLD AGE   2017

** ADOPT ME **

Meet Bianca

BIANCA AND JACK NEED TO STAY TOGETHER IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.  IF BIANCA IS ADOPTED SEPARATELY SHE MUST TO A HOME WITH AT LEAST ONE OTHER DOG.

Temperament
:  a doll - calm, great in the house - but does have separation anxiety and needs an escape-proof kennel or crate when you're gone

Bianca is coming back to us due to no fault of her own or her adopter.  A very serious illness is yet again taking it's toll on an entire household.

Foster update 6/15/2010:

Bianca has done great in her new foster home!!  What a sweetheart of a dog.  She loves to rub on you and just wants to be with you all the time.  Although she doesn’t “notify” us when she needs to go outside like her foster brother, we just let her out whenever we let him outside, and she hasn’t had any accidents in the house or in her kennel.

Bianca has a very gentle-loving temperament.  She has a doggie bed at the foot of our bed, and from the second we come upstairs to go to bed, she sleeps at the foot of our bed and doesn’t get up until we do.

We were told of Bianca’s separation anxiety, but we were told that as long as she was left with another dog, she would do okay.  My husband and I work regular 8 to 5 jobs, and we keep her in her kennel all day facing her foster brother’s kennel, and she’s done great so far.  She whines a bit when you first put her in, but some peanut butter on a bone seems to cheer her up.  She too has a bit of a peanut butter addiction.  Bianca seems to be fine in a kennel as long as she has a buddy to keep her company.

Bianca is a gentle snuggler and will make someone a very very lucky owner!!

BIANCA is a gorgeous lighter-colored shepherd who was rescued from the mean streets of the inner city and taken a local high kill pound.  Another rescue took her but then refused to keep her because of her separation anxiety.  Since we commit to our dogs for life, we gladly took her back to save her life.  We had her heartworm treated and she is in great health.

BIANCA is wonderful in the house.  She is calm, laid back and well behaved.  She adores people, loves car rides, and will play fine with other medium and large dogs, though she does like to try and be Queen Bee ;-)  NO cats or very small dogs!  BIANCA is housebroken and simply wants to be where you are!!!  She wants to know she's safe for life, loved and secure.

BIANCA was in a trial adoption in which she was doing very well, even when left alone for short periods.  However, the family did not want to securely crate her -- and when they left her alone free in the house for a longer period she chewed some furniture and was returned.

BIANCA is an almost perfect companion!  We believe that with time and patience, she will learn to once again trust that she will not be deserted.  Meantime, she needs to be with someone who is around most or all of the time, and will keep her in an escape-proof environment during the times they have to be gone.   Bianca is in boarding and has made no attempts to escape her kennel.

If you are home a good deal, or retired, or can take your dog to work with you, BIANCA would be a terrific lifetime companion for you!!  She is sweet, loving, calm and well behaved except when left alone.

BIANCA's adoption fee is $300.  This includes her spay, heartworm test and treatment, all shots, microchip, etc.  For an explanation of MOGS' adoption policies and fees, please go to www.mogsrescue.petfinder.com

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

STOP!! READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER!

  1. We're picky about our adopters.
  2. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD?  They're not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.
  3. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs.
  4. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home?   We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone.  You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone.  A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car.  Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into.  Gates are opened.  Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
  5. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up?
  6. Will you make a lifetime commitment?  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
  7.  Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment?  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
  8. Are you unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment? Do not apply.
