About Carson | |
|
CARSON is a handsome hunk and goofy youngster who’s looking for a forever family to love and be loved by!
BACKGROUND
A stray at a shelter and no one came looking for him. He’s yet another pandemic victim – someone bought him from a breeder, played with him as a little puppy, and then dumped him when he got big.
PERSONALITY
He’s just arrived in our program so we’ll know more shortly. He’s incredibly friendly to people and loves, loves, loves attention. He’s a kisser and we suspect he’ll be a cuddler and lapdog.
ENERGY LEVEL
Appears to be a typical one year old GSD youngster – active with good energy. Will need daily mental and physical activity.
HOUSE MANNERS
We’ll know more shortly.
PEOPLE
Loves people! Big kisser and adores attention. Has done great with everyone he’s met so far. He was a favorite of the vet clinic. KIDS: unknown right now, though we suspect he’ll be good. We’ll know more as we get to know him.
OTHER ANIMALS
Showed no signs of reactivity either at the shelter or the vet clinic. We’ll know more as he settles into his foster home with another male GSD.
HEALTH
No known health conditions. Had parvo, was treated and released. Will shortly be neutered and fully vetted, including microchipped and all shots.

CARSON's ADOPTION FEE: $400
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
