GINGER is one of four pups who came to us from an 'accidental' litter. She and her siblings came to us because the owner couldn't take care of them.
PERSONALITYGinger is a feisty little girl - her foster mom calls her "a pistol". She's strong-willed but was allowed to run free outdoors with the rest of her pack and hasn't really had boundaries or rules until she came to us. She's only been with us a short time and we'll know even more about her shortly.
PEOPLEShe's good with people and like most puppies tends to come right up to them. We haven't seen her around kids yet but as a puppy we believe she'll do fine also.
OTHER DOGSLives in a foster home with 3 adult GSDs, a small dog, and cats. She's learning what a cat is and doing fine with the rest of the pack. Lived with her mom/dad GSDs and litter of 6 previously.
TRAININGNeeds training in all areas, was free roaming outdoors until recently. Is getting used to a collar and leash, and walking on it. Needs basic manners, and to learn the whole concept of boundaries and rules. Noto yet houset-rained or crate trained, we're working on those.
HEALTHUp to date on shots (has had her first two of three puppy shots), dewormed, and microchipped. She'll be spayed at roughly 6 months.
If you're looking for a gorgeous German Shepherd puppy

GINGER'S ADOPTION FEE: $400
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
