MILO is one of four pups who came to us from an 'accidental' litter.  He and his siblings came to us because the owner couldn't take care of them.  We’re helping the owner to have his male and female spayed and neutered to prevent a repeat!

PERSONALITY
Milo is feisty, starved for attention, and a talker.  He wants to love on one of the adult dogs in his foster home and challenge the other one for top-dog spot (losing battle, Milo darlin' - he's like 5 times your size and been there a long time)  Milo’s very smart and learns fast, and like most GSD puppies is testing his boundaries.  He lived outdoors previously and he’s just now being shown how and when to exercise self-control like that in his foster home.  Like all the pups in his litter, he didn’t have any boundaries or rules until coming to us..  He's only been with us a short time and we'll know even more about him shortly.

PEOPLE
He's good with people and like most puppies tends to come right up to them.  We haven't seen him around kids yet but as a puppy we believe he'll do fine with them also.

OTHER DOGS
Lives in a foster home with 2 large adult dogs and 2 small dogs.  Lived with his mom/dad GSDs and litter of 6 previously. 

TRAINING
Needs training in all areas, was free roaming outdoors until recently.  Is getting used to a collar and leash, and walking on it.  Needs basic manners, and to learn the whole concept of boundaries and rules.  Not yet house-trained or crate trained, we're working on those.

HEALTH
Up to date on shots (has had her first two of three puppy shots), dewormed, and microchipped.  He'll be neutered at approximately 6 months old at MOGS’ vet.

STOP!! READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO ANY FURTHER!

1. We're picky about our adopters. 
2. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD?  They're not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.  
   
3. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs.
4. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home?   We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone.  You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone.  A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car.  Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into.  Gates are opened.  Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
   
5. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up? 
   
6. Will you make a lifetime commitment?  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
7.  Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment?  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
