For lack of a better word I have some dog items I no longer need. My beloved Cadence who is a MOGS rescue from 2009 passed away last week (hemangiocarcoma). If MOGS could use any of her belonging, i.e. bowls, collars, beds, toys, leashes then I would prefer to donate them to you.
Please let me know if you could use any of the items. Thank you.
A few pictures of her attached. Thank you for allowing me to have her, we had a wonderful life together.
Donica Goodwin
Location: Kansas City area
Age: 1 1/2 years
Temperament: Sweet girl - a little shy at first
Beautiful Cadence, although well cared for by her previous owners, was dumped by them in a local high kill shelter due to a change in their living circumstances. They said that because some of their family members were coming to stay with them for a while, it would be "too much for her". The truth is that it would be too much trouble for them to even try. They claimed to love her, but took her to a neighboring city to dump her in the pound where she had little chance of making it out alive, especially since she was scared of what had happened to her and was timid in the kennel. If we hadn't stepped in when we did, Cadence would be dead.
After taking her into the rescue, we found out that she was being trained by her previous owners as a search and rescue dog! She was doing great too - hitting her targets every time and would have been fully certified in October. We couldn't believe it!! Who could condemn such a beautiful, smart and valuable dog to die just because a new temporary resident didn't want her in the home any longer. And they didn't even try to find a new home for her through means such as their vet or by contacting us directly. Well, their loss could be your gain!
Cadence is an overall nice, very smart dog, and ready to go to her FOREVER home. Is that home yours? We're sure she would do well if someone else wanted to continue her training. She seems to like other dogs and ignores cats. We believe a home with children would be fine also.
Cadence's adoption fee is $300. For an explanation of our fees and policies, please visit us at www.mogsrescue.petfinder.com.
