About Katrina

  • Declawed: No
  • Housetrained: Yes

Location: Emporia, KS
Age: Unknown
Temperament: Perfect family dog!

10/21/10 - Unfortunately Katrina has been returned to our program.  Katrina in a sweetheart of a dog who just wants a lot of love.  Katrina's adopters took very good care of her and she is now in need of a diet and a little extra exercise.  Wouldn't you love to give this girl a home?

Update 5/7/09: Katrina has tested positive for heartworms. She will begin her treatment next week. If you can help out with this expensive, but treatable condition, please donate securely through our website Thank you for your support!

Update 5/3/09: Katrina is doing great in her foster home! Her foster parents say she is fantastic: wonderful house manners, no accidents, no chewing, good with kids, good with dogs, good with cats and good in the car. She does well on a leash and knows "sit" and "come".

MOGS doesn't know too much about me yet, but when they do you can be sure you'll see an update here! Please think about it, even if you could foster me just for a few days you could make the difference in saving my life. How great would that be! I mean, look at me, I'm a looker. Lots of attention at the park for sure. That is, if you wanted to go the park...maybe take a ball...just an idea. Think about it!

Katrina's adoption fee is $300.

More about Katrina

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

  1. We're picky about our adopters!
  2. GSDs are not for everyone.  They take a lot of time, effort, training.  They shed year round.  They're big.  They scare lots of people.  They "mouth" and herd.  They're usually strong-willed and stubborn.  You have to have references and a home visit.  If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying.
  3. All dogs must be inside family pets. We do not adopt to outdoor only homes.
  4. When you're not home, you must put your dog indoors (NOT in the yard).  One adopted MoGS dog died after the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, someone opened the gate, and she was hit by a car.  Privacy fences get broken into, gates are opened, thieves steal dogs. NEVER leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!!
  5. You must make a lifetime commitment.  It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE.
  6. Are you unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment? Do not apply.
  7. What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes?  New baby? Divorce?  Moving?   How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up?
  8. You're making a lifetime commitment to a MOGS Dog.   We expect you to keep it!  It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what.
