PATRICK is a stunning male shepherd-mix. Patrick came to MOGS with his litter mates Kelce (M) and Sammi (F), as an owner-surrender from a backyard breeder.
TEMPERAMENTPatrick is currently in foster-placement to work on learning good doggie manners. He is not quite potty-trained, but is making great progress, and can now hold it at night for approximately 3-4 hours. He sometimes still has accidents in the home, but has recently started going to the door and whining when he needs to go outside. Patrick is not yet a fan of crate-training, but is slowly improving. He is completely potty-trained when in his kennel.
Patrick, like his siblings, was not well socialized to people when he came to MOGS, so he is slowly learning to snuggle and enjoy other handling. Like any puppy, he is super curious, and working to learn more about the world around him. He is working on the commands to "sit," and "wait."
OTHER ANIMALS
Patrick is in a foster home with both medium and large canine buddies, and loves, loves loves to play with all of them. He is a rough player, so is working on learning better boundaries. Patrick has also been around cats, and while very curious, appears to be safe around them.
CHILDREN
Patrick has been around children of all ages and size, with no issues.
MEDICAL
Patrick came to MOGS un-vaccinated, covered with fleas and with a belly full of worms. He will be current on puppy vaccinations as of Monday (January 21). He has been successfully treated for the fleas and parasites. He was also microchipped once in our care.
Due to Patrick's young age, he has not been neutered, and has not received a rabies vaccine.
If you're looking for a gorgeous, young, trainable German Shepherd
who will love you forever,
PATRICK may be your ideal family member!
PATRICK'S ADOPTION FEE: $300
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend
over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
