LOCATION: Wichita
AGE: approx. 18 mos - 2 yrs
UPDATE 4/12/09: Scarlett has also learned to wait at the back door to have her paws wiped!
Update from Scarlett's foster home: She's learning to heel, and stop (halt and sit). Get's along well with my two older females. Will sit for her food bowl (and she knows which one is hers, and will hold her stay). House broke, crate broke, we still work on not pawing the crate when I get home to let them out. I ask her to sit and not paw, otherwise I'll not open the crate. She sleeps in the crate at night. She now knows how to get up and down stairs. I had a young child and a toddler here for a visit, and met a young kid today on the walk, she was fine both times....She's a smart young girl, with brains and with the amount of energy a youngster should have. She'll learn quickly, if somebody will take the time to teach her.
Scarlett is a beautiful little lady who came to MOGS with Rhett after they were found running stray. She's a stunningly gorgeous red and black girl who is quite svelt, and at about 60 lbs has obviously kept her school girl figure. She is very energetic and loves to run and play. She'd make a wonderful agility or flyball dog, and is very graceful and fast. She'll need some lessons in basic obedience and plenty of exercise and toys to keep her busy, but learns quickly as GSDs tend to. This is definitely a girl who is looking for a job to do...whether it's fetching the morning paper, running an agility course, or jogging with her new best friend.
