Tasha (Adoption Pending) needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
About Tasha (Adoption Pending) | |
|
TASHA is a gorgeous mature lady who was originally dropped off at a shelter with another dog who was believed to be her daughter. They were almost immediately adopted together.
The adopter recently returned Tasha but was heartbroken to do so. The other dog doesn't like to share toys or play as much as Tasha wanted to, and when Tasha would try to play with her a fight would break out. For the safety of her grandkids, she felt it necessary to return her and find a new home for her.
TEMPERAMENT: Tasha is a mature lady but has lots of spunk, adores walks, loves car rides, and is very loving! She would like to play with other dogs but doesn't have the social skills to recognize when the other dog says 'no', so she would make an ideal only dog. She could live with another dog who is much more accepting of a slightly-pushy-let's-play approach, or with an owner who can/will educte her -- with good leadership and training -- on how to interact appropriately with other dogs when trying to play.
Tasha is great with all people and has no aggressions. She lives with cats and does well with them. She lives inside with the other female dog in the house and has no problems indoors (the trigger between them seems to be attempts to play in the yard).
HEALTH: Tasha is in good health. She's currently on Proin, an inexpensive medication, to prevent occasional urinary dribbling and is doing great. Occasionally she has a stool issue, once in a while eliminating in the house, and we're currently in the process of trying various remedies for that. She has some spondylosis/arthritis in her spine but it's minor (we will provide your vet with her xrays) and in no way impedes her mobility. She loves to go on walks, play in the yard, goes up and down stairs freely, etc.
OVERALL: Tasha is super loving with a zest for life! She's past the puppy-crazies and settles beautifully, but she loves her people and life in general. She looks at you with those big, brown, eager eyes as if to say, "OK, what are we doing today? Let's have some fun!" She needs a family where she can either be an only dog or who will work with her on her play behavior with other dogs.
Whoever gets Tasha will be one lucky family -- she's a lover and knows how to make you smile!
If you're looking for a gorgeous, mature lady who's past the crazy
years and will love you forever,
TASHA may be your ideal family member!
