Each rescue is responsible for their own items. If you bring canopies or tents, remember that nothing is allowed to be staked into the ground. You can use sand bags, concrete blocks, etc. Feel free to bring the following: Tents/Canopies Tables/Chairs Coolers Fliers/Handouts Items to sell (Money earned stays in your rescue) Pictures "Adopt a new best friend." Pete and Mac's - Lenexa has chosen us to be the rescue for their June "Yappy Hour"! It's from 4 - 7 pm, and everyone who comes in during those hours can buy a raffle ticket for doggie items, buy a hamburger, etc. All the money raised comes to MOGS. the best I can deduce is that they want us to have a bunch of our people there if we can, along with a few dogs. I'm sure the more we 'participate" with attendees and with raffle items, the more likely we'll be invited back. Lynn said corporate would be contacting me with details, and when they do I'll pass it on over to you. So please mark the date and time and plan on being there. About this special fundraiser "Yappy Hour" In honor of International Homeless Pets Day (August 15th) we are hosting a "Yappy Hour" fundraiser on Saturday August 14th from 11:30am to 2:30pm here at Camp Bow Wow Omaha and we would love for each and every one of you to participate! The event will be geared toward raising money for all rescue groups who participate in the event as well as for Mookie, one of our staff member's dogs who is need of a very expensive surgery to correct a degenerative bone disease in his back hips and knee. 50% of proceeds will be distributed to each participating rescue group and the other 50% of proceeds will go towards Mookie's surgery. We have alot of fun activities planned for the event including a silent auction with gifts donated by Camp Bow Wow as well as by local omaha businesses, doggy wash, play dates, "Puptinis"(doggy martinis), food and beverages, raffles, and "Puparazzi" photo sessions. DUE TO THE HOT CONDITIONS THIS EVENT WILL OCCUR INSIDE!!! We will have free hot dogs, chips and beverages for you and free puptinis (chilled chicken broth and water) for your doggies. We will be advertising this event to in an email to all of our customers, on facebook, on our website as well as sending press releases to the Omaha World Herald, City Weekly and the Reader. We would love to have your rescue group here at camp that day to promote foster care and adoptions. Feel free to bring dogs up for adoption and anything else you feel would help contribute to the day. **Note, Marissa has made great connections at Camp Bow Wow -Omaha and they are supportive of MOGS by their willingness to consider fostering dogs that we have no home options for (even resulting in an adoption of Pistachio!). GREEN ACRES - DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

Event Information: NAWS will be hosting the dog wash and micro-chipping and Green Acres has several other dog events going on- Hot-dog eating / pet caricatures/ pet photography, etc. The event is only 2 hours- 5pm-7pm and we set up around 4:15-4:30 Please call for appointment for ...Micro-chipping. 816-830-7759. Cost is $25. All dogs for dog wash or micro-chipping will receive a goody bag compliments of Green Acres. MOGS will be setting up our booth out in the parking lot, handing out information, showcasing a few program dogs, etc. I will need at least three booth people (also help with set-up) and two or three dog handlers (hopefully with accompanying program dogs). It’s only a two hour event and I believe there is also a Farmers Market setup there on certain Thursday evenings, so the more the merrier, allowing us all to enjoy the event festivities. Paws In The Park is a fundraising Walk benefiting FOPAS efforts to build a new no-kill shelter. With lots of rescues, vendors, and a festival type atmosphere, it is fun for the whole family! Located in beautiful English Landing Park, Parkville, MO - across from Park College. There will be an adoptable dog parade for all rescue groups who are attending with dogs. Each rescue group may include up to 3 dogs in the parade. Set up may begin as early as 7:00 AM with tear down and clean-up completed by 2:00 PM. The event hours are 9:00 AM to Noon, but please be advised that ...in past years participants have begun arriving by 8:30 AM. MOGS will begin set-up at 7:00 - 7:15. We will be out of there by 2:00. Here are a few fun facts about the 2010 Paws in the Park Dog Walk Festival. We hope to see you there! Jackson County Parks & Recreation is proud to present DOGTOBER FEST 2010 and the 17th Annual Tails for Trails Dog-Walk for Parks. These events will be held on Sunday, October 17th, from 10:00AM to 4:00PM at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center on the East side of Lake Jacomo/Fleming Park in Blue Springs, MO Admission to the Dogtober Fest 2010 is free of charge, however, a donation of dog food is requested. The food drive benefits two local animal shelters, (Lee's Summit & Independence) and several rescue organizations. Activities include demonstrations, games, contests, free drawings and silent auctions for great prizes. Booths will include breed clubs, training groups, therapy dogs, dog treats, groomers, dog supply retailers and services for dog owners. Humane societies, animal shelters and rescue orgs. (MOGS) will have Adopt-A-Pet areas or will be accepting adoption applications. The event will also feature the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test; Obedience & Rally Show & Go; Agility demos, fun runs, workshope and Weave Pole Races; Dock Diving contest, demos and workshop; Disc Dog contest, demos and workshops; and demos of police dogs, search & rescue, water rescue, sheep herding and more! Several new events are in the works this year including Blessing of the Pets and Extreme Vertical Dock Diving Demo! This is an "All Hands On Deck" sort of event, as I certainly try to get enough volunteers for this event to enable everyone the opportunity to go out and enjoy the day a bit as well as working the booth & handling dogs. Set-up will probably begin around 8:00AM Since it is such a long day, anyone handling dogs, and the dogs themselves should only be there for about 3 hour shifts. They are asking for no more than 2 - 3 program dogs be present because of limited inside space. It will be held inside because of potential unpleasant weather. I would prefer to have people closer to the Olathe area handle/staff this event. It will be very easy. You will take a table, table cloth, smaller sign, donation jar and so on. Not the usual big outdoor presentation. Very simple and small. Please let me, Wendy, know if you would like to volunteer for this.

Camp Bow Wow Omaha is hosting the second annual Cupids & Canines celebration from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on February 13, 2011 at Camp Bow Wow, 11819 Stonegate Drive (just South of Maple on 120th). The event aims to raise awareness and funds for a pack of worthy canine causes, including several area rescue groups and Camp Bow Wow’s Bow Wow Buddies Foundation (www.campbowwowusa.com/charity ).
Guests at the Camp Bow Wow Omaha event will enjoy cookies & hot cocoa as they play with their pups in one of our 3 open play yards, browse local vendor booths and check out area rescue groups. Cost to play is a donation of $5.00, the event is Free. There will be a photographer on hand to take photos of your pooch, raffle items and prize give-a-ways.
PLEASE NOTE: ANY DOG IN ATTENDANCE WILL NEED TO BRING CURRENT PROOF OF VACCINATION (RABIES, DISTEMPER, BORDATELLA). It is normal procedure for a doggie day care to request this.
