Portia (1-11)
Portia (1-11)

Thank you so much for working with us to get this amazing dog. I just thought I'd let you know how Sasha's (as she has been re-named) first day here went. When we first brought her home she was a little shy, and while she seemed liked she wanted to be around us she wasn't sure.  It is now almost 9pm and I have a shadow! She is adorable and so well behaved, and just wants to be wherever I am. We have had two family members stop by to do different things, and while wary at first, she got used to both of them. I can't thank you enough for all the time and love you gave her, as I'm sure she wouldn't be the way she is without you. We'll end pictures as soon as we take some.  Thanks again!
Lydia

Rosie

Just look at ROSIE THE FERAL DOG now!  It took 3 hours in the rain to catch Rosie, who promptly bit the rescuer and wrecked the vet's office in a total panic.  We had to literally hogtie her just to get her out of the vet's office!  Next she spent 10 months in boarding, curled up in a corner of a boarding run, shaking whenever humans approached.  Her only concern when out in the exercise yard each day was how to get away from the humans around her.  Ever, ever so slowly she began to let one human at a time approach.  Then Mary Kay and her family, who had previously adopted Indigo from us, lost their hearts to Rosie's story.  After much soul-searching and many meetings, they decided to adopt Rosie and be her guides on the next stage of her journey back to life.  Now Rosie is a gorgeous girl who walks proudly, head up, curious about the world around her, no longer skulking and terrified.  She loves the sun, adores her walks and loves life.  She's still skittish of strangers in her home but one day soon she'll overcome that, too.  Rosie is an amazing dog with an amazing family and an amazing story.

THANK YOU, Mary Kay, Gary and Sean.
You never gave up on Rosie.

We ask all adopters for "a lifetime commitment."
Now you see why

Zoey (i8.10)

MOGS NOTE:  Izzy/Zoey was nearly killed at the pound because she was literally paralyzed with fear - wouldn't move on her own - and they misinterpreted her behavior for passive aggressiveness.  She has gone from having to be drug out of her cage to a near-perfect dog in less than 6 months.  We believe that most dogs CAN be rehabilitated and that all it takes is love, patience and the courage to understand.

Izzy's New Mom wrote us to say: Hi, we adopted Zoey (now called Izzy) about 4 months ago. She is a real sweetheart!  She loves Jason more than anything - they love to cuddle on the couch together. And she is unbelievably smart!!! When ever we call, she comes. Her favorite place to be is her kennel and the couch. We still have some stuff to work on, but we're getting close to perfect. Izzy is not a big fan of rain, but water in ponds is no problem - she likes to lay down in the water and just lay there. Its too funny. Car rides are no problems with her. And Izzy loves her buddy Zao. They play like crazy everywhere. She sometimes has problems with big black dogs, but its getting better every time she meets a nice one. Dog parks are her favorite place to be when ever she is not on the couch sleeping.  I sent you some pictures of her so you can see she is doing well :) Thank you for allowing us to share our lives with our little baby mama.    Jason and Nadine

Fritz

Fritz is such a joy to have and it has been especially fun seeing him play in the snow, and we’ve been getting quite a bit of that, so he’s in heaven (and so am I!). He’s almost perfect in the car now and spends several nights a week without being locked in his crate. He loves curling up on the loveseat and also with me on the couch. He has mastered having guests over and greeting them properly and gets better on walks every day. And after this past weekend he entered 2 new homes and met a total of 5 new dogs and did wonderfully at both places. My sister and I built a fire in her fire pit yesterday while it snowed (we got another 2 inches) and drank hot tea while the 4 dogs ran non-stop. It was SO good to see him running off leash and really made me wish I still had a house with a yard, but at least he’s getting me out of the apartment for several long walks/runs every day, rain or shine, which has been great for me.

Jessie

At the Meet and Greet on Sunday 1/2/11, Jessie found a forever home!  Here is a message from her new Mom and Dad:

Well we had a wonderful ride home. Jessie did great in the car. We stopped off at PetSmart to buy a few things. Maiko waited outside with her, which I think worked out the best. We got her home and let her check out the backyard. She ran the perimeter a few times and took care of some business. After she inspected the rest of the house, she drank alot of water and ate just a little bit. I think she had too many snacks today and was still a bit nervous, figuring things out. We took her back outside a bit, to get her kennel set up in the living room. Didn't take long for her to crash out. We ate some dinner and sat on the couch. Jessie was already fighting the "Sleep monster". She wanted to fall asleep, but didn't want to miss out on the action! hahaha. Then we all fell asleep. Long day. Very successful one though. We are very happy. Thanks again for all your help and guiding us. I think it worked out great. We look foward to lots of MOGS-related fun the next few months. more pics to come! Chris & Maiko
