More Information:
RILEY literally takes your breath away! Oooooh what a hunk! He’s a stunning example of a classic old-style German Shepherd – straight back, strong lines, and utterly gorgeous. What’s more, he’s a sweetheart of a boy! He’s easy to handle, wants to please you, bonds easily with people, and will quickly be giving you kisses. He pretty much just melts your heart – the way he quietly and humbly comes up to kiss you is heartbreaking, as if he’s confused about why he ended up homeless. According to neighbors, he was just one of several German Shepherds who were dumped in the area.
Riley is not good with horses or most farm animals (he barked at the horses and acted too strongly around them), but is fine with other dogs and with cats. Children are unknown and would have to be tested, but we believe he will do well with kids.
Riley doesn’t like to be “deserted” – as a stray, he was taken in by a couple who put him in their barn and he promptly chewed up an expensive saddle. They tried to find his owners, advertising and getting the word out, but no one claimed him. When he got out of the barn, he headed straight for the house to find the people! He’s obviously feeling abandoned and insecure, and needs to know he will NEVER be abandoned again!
DOGS: yes
CATS: unknown. Would have to be tested
KIDS: unknown. Would have to be tested
IDEAL HOME: an active family who will love him and care for him forever. A doggie companion would be a plus.
If you're looking for a stunning, classic example of a German Shepherd
who also has a sweet and gentle personality,
RILEY is your dream dog!
