|
REMY is a classically handsome little guy who is the definition of "adorable"!
BACKSTORY
Stray found starving and sick. With a body score of only 3 (out of 9), he was extremely malnourished and had either been mistreated or on stray for quite a while. Was diagnosed with parvo, treated, and released to MOGS.
TEMPERAMENT
A typical untrained GSD puppy. Smart, strong, often goofy, sometimes stubborn. Quick learner and a good observer of his dog foster brother, who he loves and has a blast playing with. He’s blossoming in foster care, becoming a carefree little guy. He was fine with people from the start but it was as if he’d never known love. But now he’s actually coming to his foster mom and asking for attention and love ;-)
PEOPLE
He’s friendly to everyone he’s met, both at the shelter and in his time with us. Has not shown any aggression to any person. It appears his prior owners didn’t show him much warmth or love, but now that he’s been in a foster home he’s learning all about it – and is starting to ask for it and seek it out. KIDS: we haven’t seen him around kids yet and would need to test that, but we believe he will do well.
OTHER ANIMALS
Loves his big GSD foster brother and loves playing with him. It appears he wasn’t around other animals much in his prior home and this is new to him -- when he first met his foster brother, he barked and barked, and didn’t show an ounce of fear despite the size difference. But with a proper introduction (gradual & slow), he now loves his big brother and is learning a lot from him. CATS: unknown and would have to be tested. PREY DRIVE: seems to have a typical puppy chase-whatever-moves approach.
ENERGY
Typical GSD puppy energy. High.
TRAINING
Needs typical puppy training. Is smart and picking things up quickly. Is learning a lot from his foster GSD brother, who he watches and copies in many things.
HEALTH
Ready to go home. Neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative. Had parvo, was treated and is fully recovered.
SUMMARY
Adorable and gorgeous little guy whose life is really just starting. Whether his prior suffering was due to neglect by his owners, or a result of being stray for a prolonged period, that’s all over now. Remy's ideal home will have a resident dog that can meet his energy and play-style, as well as help teach him good dog manners. He also requires a fenced yard.
