Gypsy (7.14) (Gypsy & Josie pair) needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
About Gypsy (7.14) (Gypsy & Josie pair) | |
|
|
GYPSY is a beautiful German Shepherd who was used to breed, then thrown out of a car with her daughter Josie. A policeman saw it happening and rushed to save the two from certain death on the highway rather than pursue the car. Gypsy and Josie are both alive and well today because of the officer's quick action.
Gypsy is sweet and loving, likes to play and adores her ball! She's even been spotted falling asleep with a ball in her mouth! She had a harder time than her daughter Josie learning to be kenneled, and bent up a kennel trying to get to her foster mom. But then she figured out she's loved, is fine and will NOT be left or thrown away! It didn't take her long to understand the love in her foster home. Now she kennels on command, and sleeps peacefully through the night in her kennel.
Gypsy is good with her foster doggie sibiling, a young male GSD. She is starting to become independent after being seperated from her daughter Josie. She could live with or without a doggie buddy.
Gypsy is living with young children and doing GREAT. Cats definitely will require some training, as she's fairly interested in them. Gypsy still gets anxious sometimes if you're outside and she's in, and will move from window to window to see you. It's a good idea to raise your shades and blinds when you're out and she's in, so she doesn't damage them while she's keeping an eye on you!
Overall, Gypsy is a super loving and very smart girl who's ready for a loving, committed family who will never abandon her again, no matter what happens. She's young but not crazy, loves to be with her people, will follow you around, and is good with most everyone.
Are YOU the fortunate family to have Gypsy's love? Are YOU the family to share your lives with her? If so, hurry and put in your adoption application! The sooner the girls get situated in their forever castle, the better their fairy tale ending will be!
DOGS: YES!! MUST have at least one doggie play buddy
CATS: Interested. Would chase if allowed. But appears trainable with leadership & patience. Being slowly intro'd to cats at foster home (see video)
KIDS: YES!!! She loves the children in her foster home (a 7YO and 1YO). She is very bonded to the children and would LOVE to live with children.
IDEAL FAMILY: An active, loving, patient family who will include her in all their activities, and teach her all the things a young German Shepherd needs to learn! A securely fenced yard is required, 6 ft privacy fence strongly preferred.
If you're looking for a beautiful young German Shepherd
who wants to be part of a forever family and will love you forever,
GYPSY may be your ideal family member!
GYPSY's ADOPTION FEE: $300
GYPSY & JOSIE ADOPTED TOGETHER: $500
This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.
